Andrew Lace was assigned male at birth, but never felt male.  This resulted in a painful childhood, between her family, her church and others around her.  Overcoming that, and a desire to just not continue, she plodded forward as herself, but afraid to make the final step into that world.  Kevin Rariak was a 30-something father and husband, until his wife decided she no longer wanted to be married, leaving him with a house, the two boys, and a clueless future.

Kevin wasn’t certain about Andrew and this thing called gender dysphoria, but he hated bigotry, and he didn’t like what he saw happening to Andrew.  A friendship resulted, and each helped the other transition through the pain.
